We believe in a training style that wholly benefits your dog and makes them the best possible version of themselves. Wander With Me Canine services the areas of Ashland, Mechanicsville, Short Pump, Hanover, and Richmond, Virginia in creating a well-trained, balanced dog.
Here at WWMK9, our goal is to train dogs for families that want to do more with their dogs. From reliable obedience and better leash manners, to structured adventure walks and off leash training, we help build confident dogs you can enjoy at home and take anywhere. Imagine taking your dog to a brewery, hiking trail, family gathering, or weekend getaway without constantly worrying about pulling, jumping, overexcitement, or whether they'll listen. Instead of leaving them at home or relying on doggy daycare as an energy outlet, you broaden your dog‘s opportunities for involvement in your life. What does this mean for your dog? It means that you now have the ability to offer your best buddy proper socialization, endless enrichment, and fulfillment best suited for your pup's specific needs.
We strongly push the mindset that a fulfilled dog is a happy dog, and when your dog is happy, it makes life with them that much more enjoyable for you and your family.
We are offering a different approach to standard training programs by focusing on your dog’s biological needs. Our training programs and adventure walks are structured towards teaching your dog how to be reliable in environments where they can thrive to their fullest, giving them a healthy outlet and letting them just be a dog. Our mission is to create a respectful and balanced relationship between dog and owner. Their journey starts with our training and continues with you and your family!
Brittney’s path into dog training started pretty simply—she loved animals, saw an opportunity to work with dogs, and knew it was something she wanted to explore. What started as a love for dogs grew into a career and, eventually, a completely different way of thinking about what it means to train them.
After years of working with dogs, Brittney realized she wanted to create something that went beyond teaching a dog how to simply “be good.”
She believes dogs aren't robots. They're free-thinking individuals with their own personalities, needs, instincts, and ways of experiencing the world. Training matters—but so does giving dogs the opportunity to explore, play, learn, build confidence, and live a fulfilled life.
That belief became the heart behind Wander With Me Canine.
Brittney has been professionally training dogs since 2014 and completed training in Canine Obedience and Behavior Modification through Tarheel Canine. She continues to grow through hands-on experience, continuing education, and working with dogs of all different personalities and needs.
Some of her favorite transformations aren't about perfect obedience. They're watching a nervous dog come out of their shell, seeing confidence grow, and watching the relationship between a dog and their owner become stronger.
Ultimately, Brittney wants her clients to feel confident experiencing more of life with their dogs—to take them more places, try new things together, and better understand the dog on the other end of the leash.
And when she's not working with her clients' dogs, you'll usually find her doing exactly that with her own three.
Because a good life with your dog is about more than having a dog who listens.
It's about building a relationship that lets you wander together.
